This open-ended beer collaboration supports the National Black Brewers Association's work in developing and growing Black brewers nationwide.
We're calling on brewers across the country to come together and continue the work we all committed to with the Black Is Beautiful stout. As the movement grows, each participating brewery will commit $1 per beer sold to the work of the National Black Brewer's Association.
The Story Behind
Black is Beautiful
Launched in 2020 by Marcus Baskerville, founder of Weathered Souls Brewing Co., Black Is Beautiful is a global beer collaboration designed to raise awareness and funds for social justice. What began as a single imperial stout recipe quickly grew into the largest beer collaboration in history—bringing together over 1,600 breweries across 22 countries. Each participating brewery committed to donating 100% of proceeds to local organizations fighting for racial equity and inclusion.
More than just a beer, Black Is Beautiful became a movement—raising over $6 million and sparking meaningful conversations across the industry. In 2023, the initiative returned as a Hazy IPA benefiting the National Black Brewers Association, continuing its mission to build a more inclusive future for craft beer.

Do I have to stick to the recipe?
Not at all! We encourage brewers to get creative with their Black is Beautiful beer recipes, from Barrel-aged Stouts to Fruited IPAs.
Many collaboration participants have put their own style on Black is Beautiful beer, donating a portion of the proceeds to the NB2A.
I am not a brewer, how can I support?
You do not have to brew the collaboration beer to support the cause. Anyone can donate to the Black is Beautiful beer campaign.
Are donations tax deductible?
No, unfortunately, as per IRS guidelines donations to this campaign are not tax deducible. The NB2A is a 501(c)(6) trade association.
The NB2A does have other programs in which organizations can donate that can be tax deductible, email info@nb2a.org for more details.
